Thank you to Sadhbh and Sadhbhers and Venetia at Style With Veni for nominating me for the Liebster Award, which celebrates bloggers who are just starting out. The rules are simple. You answer the questions given to you by your nominator, then choose 11 more bloggers with less than 200 followers and give them 11 questions of your own. Sounds like fun!

1. Name only one thing from your wardrobe that you can't live without.

It's boring but my black Zara slim cut jeans. I wear them almost every day. I much prefer myself in trousers and I like to be comfortable. They're versatile and go with absolutely anything.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

It's hard to pick one place but I'm going to choose the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris simply because I am in love with French food, French style and the French attitude.

3. Fashion, make-up, hair. Choose one!

Fashion. I like to keep my hair and my make-up natural, but clothes are something you can experiment with and change every day.

4. What's your favourite designer?

My favourite designer is Margaret Howell, who I had the pleasure of hearing speak at my graduation ceremony where she was awarded an honorary professorship.

I love her androgynous and austerity chic style, the unquestionable quality of her design and the fabrics she uses, as well as her twists on the classic white shirt, garbadine raincoat and the tweed jacket.

5. Why did you start blogging?

I started Brunch and Brains for three reasons: firstly, to keep up my writing, secondly to have a place to explore my hobby of cooking, and thirdly to encourage me to be curious and inquisitive by finding things to feature on it.

6. Who's your style icon?

My style icons are fabulous French women such as Francois Hardy, Clemence Poesy, Emmanuelle Alt and Brigitte Bardot. However a lot of men also influence the way I dress including the members of The Rolling Stones.

7. Name one song that you can hear all day long.

Monkey Man by Toots & the Maytals. It's truly impossible to be in a bad mood with that song playing.

8. Is there any trend that you absolutely hate?

I hate any trend I know will only last a season. It's a waste of money and a symptom of fast fashion. I believe style should be sustainable. I also highly dislike trends that strongly imitate past eras, without bringing the style forward. Fashion, music and art should be about looking at the present moment or to the future.

9. If you could only have your hair one colour for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Blonde. When I was little girl it was the hair colour that all my icons had, (Gwen Stefani, Debbie Harry, Elle Woods etc) and so I was the colour I wanted. Every time I change it, no matter how much I like it at the time, I always know it's temporary. It might not be my natural colour but it's the colour that feels natural to me.

10. What TV show are you loving at the moment?

Made in Chelsea NYC. Trash TV has cleansing properties for the soul.

11. What is your dream job?

Newspaper reporter, columnist, author, and food blogger, of course.

Now it's my turn.

And my questions are:

1) What is your favourite season for fashion?
2) If you could live during any other time in history, when would it be?
3) What song reminds you of good times and why?
4) Who is your favourite designer?
5) Mary-Kate or Ashley?
6) What's your favourite breakfast?
7) If you could have a new skill that you don't have now, what would it be?
8) If you won an around the world trip, but it meant being away from friends and family for a year, would you go?
9) If you were stranded on a desert island and could take one book and one album with you, what would they be?
10) What makes the perfect morning?
